Recently we had a local prestige car dealer bring a Mercedes S Class that we had previously diagnosed with a faulty battery and SAM after jump starting.
We advised the customer to order a SAM unit and battery and then to pop back for us to programme using mercedes Xentry and Mercedes SCN online.
Firstly we changed the main battery and tested the aux battery in the boot to ensure we had sufficient power. After testing we applied our power stabilizer to ensure stable and safe power during programming.
With a stable 14.5 volts we setup Xentry ready for coding and programming the SAM unit online directly from the Mercedes Server.
As our current SAM unit was functioning we opted to remove the coding from this unit first and proceeded to programe this data to the new SAM unit.
After the programming procedure we tested all vehicle functions to ensure everything was working as it should along with a short test drive to again confirm no faults appeared internally or on the instrument cluster.
