Car Flipping – Skoda Fabia Project Part 2

PART 2 – See part 1 of project Fabia HERE

Will we make a profit ?

If you have seen the first post on our “project Fabia” you will see there was not a huge amount of damage in total the rad pack, crash bar and bonnet have cost us just under £230 in total. But in terms of time this has caused us a number of problems. The biggest issue we have come up against is sourcing the correct bonnet this is a 2012 Mote Carlo edition facelift 5j platform, we have sourced a number of bonnets from various sources and all have been wrong ? how can this be !!! We are now looking to repair the damaged bonnet that it arrived with just so we are able to keep the costs down.

Front Bumper Repair

This week we attacked the front bumper as the crash bar had pierced the bumper skin, As you can see we have shaped and filled the damaged area so it will be ready for paint / smart repair. Firstly we heated the plastic to remove any sharp edges that were poking outwards as the impact came from behind the bumper. Then we used a small amount of fiberglass to reinforce the damaged area so we had a backing to apply the external layer of filler. After this we sanded and smoothed. Below is the repair as it sits currently, a video will be uploaded shortly.
