We recently went to Wickford in Essex to investigate a 997 911 CAB, the customer had been to another Porsche specialist in Essex who had done some previous mechanical work. The key issue for this customer was the rear upper spoiler would not actuate on the interior button.
Fully equipped with Porsche OEM diagnostics PIWIS we set to work performing a full fault diagnosis scan.
Although we had no fault codes for the rear spoiler or the ECU we did come across a gateway module error. Putting the gateway error aside we performed a spoiler actuation in engineering mode to make the spoiler move. Knowing that the spoiler is moving there can be no mechanical fault it must be electronic.
We reset the ECU and adaptations and then tested, After up and down a few times the issue was solved.
