On Friday we visited a customer in Bury St Edmunds who had visited a number of local garages that were unable to accurately diagnose Limp mode and cutting out of the 2.2 HDI engine found in the Citroen relay and Peugeot boxer engines.
Within an hour of arrival we ran a diagnostic test to find the fault code P0094 fault code. After a number of fuel system checks and visual inspection of the fuel system we advised the customer to clean the fuel rail sensor and test.
A few days later after cleaning the fuel rail sensor and the vehicle failing to start after 3 days, on the first turn of the key the van fired and was running. Although running it was not running as it should be but this was a good indication the a rail pressure sensor was required, We also advised to change the fuel filter at the same time.
The moral of the story is see a specialist, Pay a little more and NOT twice !!
